This easy guacamole dip recipe uses only takes about 10 minutes to make and uses all fresh ingredients. There is no reason you should be buying premade guacamole that is full of fillers and preservatives when it is so easy to make yourself! Plus, like anything, this guacamole tastes so much better when you make it yourself.
Guacamole is a simple recipe but since there are so many options at the grocery store it seems like an easier decision just to buy it. This is true but taking 10 minutes out of your day seems pretty simple as well. One thing I love about making things myself is that you can always adjust the flavors to your liking. For example, I LOVE spicy, so I like to add extra jalapenos. If you don’t like spicy you can just leave it out.
Tips for Making The Best Guacamole
You want to use ripe avocados when making guacamole but still want them to be firm. It is important to make sure they are not soft and mushy or else the guacamole will taste a little off.
One thing that used to drive me crazy when it came to guacamole was that it oxidizes quickly. There is not much you can do to prevent it from oxidizing but I like to make small batches so I can use it before it turns brown.

In this recipe, you will see that I use jalapenos and minced garlic because I think it adds a lot more flavor to the guacamole. However, if you do not like spicy or garlic feel free to skip out on them.
Fresh garlic is not typically used in authentic guacamole recipes but I love adding it! I like to add a few seasonings like chili powder and cumin to add more flavor as well.
