I have been obsessed with these grilled cod fish tacos recently! They are extremely fresh and only take about 20 minutes to make! Plus, I added two of my favorite that I make to go the fish tacos.
Everyone loves sauce but they can be full of calories and sugar so I like to make my own. You can also adjust the flavor and spice when you make sauces instead of buying them.

Grilled Cod Fish Tacos Ingredients
- 1 lb cod any white fish works
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/4 tsp cayenne powder
- Salt/pepper to liking
- 2 limes

How to Cook Cod Fish Tacos
Grilling Method:
- Preheat grill to medium0high heat.
- Brush or grease grill with oil.
- Grill on each side for about 3-5 minutes or until fully cooked.
- Allow fish to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Skillet Method:
- Heat a skillet or a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat with olive oil.
- Once the oil is hot add the fish to the skillet but make sure not to overcrowd so the fish can sear not steam.
- Cook for about 3-5 minutes on each side or until fish is flakey and opaque.
- Allow fish to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Oven Method:
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Place fish onto a baking sheet with parchment paper or onto a baking dish.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until completely cooked through.
- Allow fish to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Easy Grilled Cod Fish Tacos
These grilled codfish tacos are delicious, fresh, and extremely easy to make! I love making these for dinner but also lunch because they are on the lighter side if you use lettuce wraps.
Servings: 4
Ingredients
- 1 lb cod any white fish works
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- salt/pepper to liking
- 2 limes
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/4 tsp cayenne powder
- 8 corn tortillas
Toppings
- Cotija Cheese
- Cilantro
- Red Onion
- Avocado
- Jalapenos
Lime Sauce
- 1/2 cup greek yogurt
- 1/3 cup avocado mayo or regular
- 1 lime juiced
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp siracha
- salt/pepper to liking
Chipotle Sauce
- 1/2 cup avocado mayo or regular
- 1 tbsp water
- 1-2 tsp lime juice
- 1/2 tsp chilli powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp cayenne powder
- chipotle peppers
Instructions
Fish
- Season both sides of the cod with salt and pepper.
- In a small mixing bowl add olive oil, lime juice, and seasonings to make the marinade.
- Add fish to a ziplock bag and pour in the marinade. Marinate for 20-30 minutes.
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
- Brush or grease grill with oil, cook fish for 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Add corn tortillas to grill for 15 seconds on each side.
Sauce
- For both sauces add all of the ingredients into a blender and blend until everything is evenly combined.
