I have been loving these Breakfast Egg Muffins, in the morning before I head out the door to workout or class. I am someone who CANNOT work out in the morning on an empty stomach (unless it is really early). To put it short I basically need to have something in the morning in order to function. Unless it is my fiber filled coffee, but that is for another post ;). If you want to make it healthier you can use egg whites instead of the whole egg. Anyways these breakfast egg muffins are seriously one of the easiest recipes that I ever made,
This peanut butter banana smoothie is perfect for a post workout or even a morning smoothie. Personally, I like to have it after a workout, even though I do not add protein. However, I have started using collagen from Trader Joe’s and it does contain some protein. Whatever works for you is fine! Peanut butter banana smoothies are the best because they honestly taste like a milkshake… that is healthy so keep that in mind ;). I like to add a lot to my shakes like chia seeds,
This low carb chicken chilli is seriously so yummy and has very little carbs, thank you cream cheese! Of course, cream cheese is not exactly healthy… but only about 3 carbs for this serving. I love making this recipe because you literally cook the chicken in a crockpot, or however you would like, and then combine everything into a pot for about 20 minutes. I mean it really does not get much easier than that! This recipe is so simple but has so much flavour that even my little brother likes it.
I have been obsessed with these high fiber energy balls! Usually, I like to have at least one a day to add some more fiber into my diet. Adding more fiber into your diet is so important and I will do post all about it soon! I will have these in the morning when I am not trying to have a big meal or before a workout. In the morning I will have coffee with my favorite fiber powder and one of these. This combo will keep me full all morning and I do not feel like eating at all for a few hours.
I love making peanut butter protein balls every Sunday or Monday to prepare for the week. They only take about 10 minutes to make and you only need a few ingredients. I like to have them before or after a workout because they are really light but also packed with protein. The best part is that you do not have to bake or cook them! Less mess and less time are always the best 😉 Try it out and let me know what you think!
Ingredients for protein balls
1 cup of oats
one scoop of vanilla or chocolate protein
I decided to do a trader joe’s haul because it is my current obsession! I mean seriously you can’t beat the prices. They have a lot of organic products which I love! The first time I went to trader joe’s was a few weeks ago and I fell in love. First the prices of course, but they also have a product selection that you will not find at any other grocery stores. Every time I go here I try to get a few new things to try, which is always fun.
A hot pumpkin spice latte is the perfect way to get into the fall vibe. I did not want to spend $5 at Starbucks every time I want one, so I decided to make it myself! This recipe is way healthier and if you do not use whipped cream or honey, it is vegan. I sometimes use Agave as a substitute for honey. Here is a recipe for vegan whipped cream. Pumpkin is high in Vitamin A, antioxidants, and an immunity booster. Try out this super easy and healthy pumpkin spice latte recipe,
Hard boiled eggs are my favorite to make on Sunday’s to prepare for the week. You can them for breakfast, a snack, or add them into a salad. I personally love to have one or two before class. They keep me full without feeling lazy or bloated. I like to add pepper and pink Himalayan salt as well. But nothing beats hard boiled eggs in a salad…. seriously it is the best. I have always had a hard time getting them to be perfect but I finally got it!
I have been obsessed with turmeric lately and try to add it to drinks or meals whenever I can! It can be very strong in the beginning so I recommend only using a little at first. I add it to my juices as well. Adding honey will also help with the taste, and the lemon. The benefits of this tea are endless between the lemon, ginger, and turmeric. Adding this to your daily routine is going to naturally detox you and boost your metabolism.
I seriously love adding lemon to my water and have a post all about the benefits- click here!
SHRIMP! My favorite food besides steak that I no longer can have because I stopped eating red meat 🙁 I know very sad. Anyways shrimp tacos are extremely quick and easy to make… literally 15-20 minutes at most. If you do not use cheese and sour cream it is a very healthy meal, but I like to add just a little. I also love this recipe because it keeps me full without feeling like I can’t move after, which is the worst feeling! Adding in the spinach and avocado is going to help with getting your greens,
